Brief is the glory and short the span""--this from the introductory poem by Mr. Gluyas--of the dual story of Pietro, a matador's son, and Matt, a ""Negro,"" who meet initially at an orphanage, become firm friends, go to the U.S. together, have a double wedding (both marriages turn out badly), find themselves in the hospital together (different ailments) while Matt dies alone. Ardent twaddle and Mrs. Gluyas should go back to those period romances when she could sweep the dust under a ruffle. But then, fortunately, short the span and ""It is terminal, yes?
