Eat a banana on your coffee break, clean your telephone with cotton soaked in cologne, and ""if your boss has a favorite color, wear it."" The idea of a beauty book for working women may have some merit, but this one is unimaginative and offers an odd mix of information--some highly relevant (what to wear to a job interview), much equally applicable to all women (the basics of skin and hair care). Oh, there are foot exercises for under the desk, suggested items for a file-drawer beauty kit, advice on office protocols, even a section on dealing with work stresses. But the woman this book addresses is also told how to walk, wash her face (rinse at least ten to 20 times), dress (""A single strand of pearls is best""), and prepare for parties (bring your own raw vegetables when empty-calorie foods are likely). Certainly not top drawer.
