THE LAND OF THE CHINESE PEOPLE by Cornelia Spencer

THE LAND OF THE CHINESE PEOPLE

By

Publisher: Lippincott

Less effective, on the whole, than Enid Meadowcroft's China Story, but a more colorful book. The author knows China intimately, she gives a more detailed story of China, but sees it through much the same eyes. She emphasizes more than does Miss Meadowcroft, the customs and color of the country, goes into greater details as to its early history, has an excellent chapter on Chinese art. One of the Portraits of the Nations Series -- written by the author of The Exilo's Daughter.
