The story of a concert singer, of the accompanist who inspires her, of the broadcasting company and the all-seeing eye of the radio audience, demanding purity from their idols. Threatened with failure if they separate -- and the loss of the home and garden she loves -- the woman proposes marriage. She loves him -- he doesn't love her -- the girl next door attempts the role of the serpent in their Garden of Eden.
