The first two volumes in the New Illustrated Library of Science and Invention reach both up and down for reading levels and interest. The novice will be lured on by excellent pictures while learning from the broad survey text. The more expert will be caught and fascinated by the illustrations. The archives of both these subject areas have been thoroughly researched and have rendered up eye filling examples of the art of engravers, artists and photographers. The quality of the selection as well as the reproduction can only be compared to the fine work done by American Heritage magazine. Recommended without reservation.
