THE AULD SINNER

Slight, sentimental, evocative character sketch of the outcast of a Scottish village, against whom children are warned, ministers prayed and good folks talked. But at his death the old minister told everyone off and sent Davy to glory. The harsh religious views and training, life at the turn of the century, written with feeling and some charm. Somewhat limited in appeal, however.
