Whoever wants to rescue the Detroit Tigers from ancient Tiger Stadium—owner Little Joe Yeager, maybe, or his blowhard VP Sport McAllister—won't stop at arson and murder, as the baesball commissioner's investigator Duffy House (Fear in Fenway, 1993) realizes after Kit Gleason, impassioned head of Save Our Stadium, is burned to death in a stadium fire that's way beyond suspicious. Duffy, his niece, and fellow fan Petey Biggers waste no time in linking the fire—with the help of Kit's alleged lover Al Shaw, a black Tigers slugger and ex-con head of Expanding Convicts Options Now (EX-CON)—to a nest of professional criminals and neighborhood low-lifes; you can be sure the real perp is the whitest dude around.
