TIME FOR SPRING

Irene is quite ready for spring, but the weather isn't. She's tired of sledding and sliding and doesn't even seem very excited when a snow man she builds comes alive. She just wishes he'd go away (which would mean spring had arrived)- a pity when he does for he was such a nice fellow. Again Crockett Johnson's stolid drawings have the squirrel cheeked people who look just faintly surprised.
