HERO AT HALFBACK

A reliable high school sports story combines human interest with football tactics for a book that's a little better than average. For Dan Taylor the dream of a senior year position on his school team that will probably win a state championship is smashed when his father has to move from Union City to the smaller town of Farrington. There Dan finds his superior playing makes him the center of things. Too, he's given a car, must live up to the adoration of his bed-ridden younger brother, and thinks about true team play- all of which contribute to getting in trouble, and out, before he feels at home.
