A reliable high school sports story combines human interest with football tactics for a book that's a little better than average. For Dan Taylor the dream of a senior year position on his school team that will probably win a state championship is smashed when his father has to move from Union City to the smaller town of Farrington. There Dan finds his superior playing makes him the center of things.
