I'm afraid I cannot was enthusiastic about this autobiographical record of logical adventure in the Near East. Undoubtedly authentic, semi-popular without crifice of accuracy -- a decade of exploration and excavation and armchair research. chapters are distinct, one from another; combination of personal experience, record of round, anecdotal, and discursive. Never quite comes down to layman's level. I've read books on subject that made me wonder if it might not be an absorbing career- but this record tempts me not at all.
