A verdict of suicide sends the dead man's children haring after evidence that it must have been murder and their investigation of those present at the hotel where he died turns up strangely interlocking facts. It is, however, C.I.D. Mallett who puts the twist in the ending. This English representative in the Murder Revisited series is dry and discursive and particular.
