More pomp than circumstance to the story of Gunner Cade, ""consecrate Brother in the Order of Arms"", and loyal to the Emperor, when he is captured by some commoners and tagged as an impersonator in his attempt to rejoin his Chapter. Making his way to the Gunner Supreme, to the Power Master, and finally to the Emperor, he confronts treason in high places and only after his thorough disillusionment rebels against the Order and frees the earth from its tyranny.... Gunner's a fairly simple sort, and his adventures may seem silly rather than startling.
