Romance, with a few more salty characters than those in Smouldering Fire but still not hitting the same high as the first Miss Buncle. Story of a girl who is unhappy at home, and takes a job as cook with a famous painter and his wife. When the wife leaves him, Sue stays on, until her boss escapes the mountain of unpaid bills, does a popular portrait to pay them off -- and disappears. The finale is what one would expect. Good light novel for rental libraries.
