A fascinating mixture of fact and fantasy where a plunge to the bottom of the sea reveals an amazing farm ""manned"" by fishes and a male ""mermaid"" farmer. Two blue seahorses pull the cultivator in the garden where sea lettuce, sea beans and bothersome seaweeds grow. The goatfish and sea crabs graze in the meadows where two dogfish help herd them. The cowfish dwell safely in a barn away from the sea lions and sea wolves. In addition to his work, the farmer goes about freeing his friends in nets and traps, and soon the fishermen above the water leave disappointed. But the underworld sea farm continues its peaceful existence with butterfly fish swimming among the coral branched trees, the curled up asleep and the starfishwinking merrily down. Luminous colors the beautifully detailed illustrations calculated to enthrall the young viewer.
