RETURN TO CHEYNE SPA

In this latest Regency fare from Vivian (An Elegant Education, A Lady of Qualities, Fair Game, etc.), the genteely-born but impoverished Elinor Hardy is employed as a hostess/dealer in Lady Bassingbrook's gambling establishment when the Duchess of Towans, Lady Augusta, steps in and saves the day. Eager to arrange a suitable match (i.e., moneyed) for her spoiled niece Lady Barbara--pursued by many but smitten by none--the Duchess cuts a deal: she will most generously set up Elinor in a style to which she's not lately been accustomed if Elinor will aid the aunt's matchmaking schemes. Misunderstandings and complications ensue, of course--but naturally it all ends appropriately lighthearted.
