PICTURES OF FRANCE BY HER CHILDREN

Full color reproductions of remarkable paintings by French school children selected from a collection of J.M. Paillard. The paintings, exuberant in color, unusually sophisticated in form, are accompanied by a text in English and in French. Geared to American children, the running text explains the French scenes used as subjects for the paintings. The French is hardly a breeze for beginners, since it is mostly idiomatic, but the attempt to explain French artistic expression in the language of the country is an admirable one. A godsend for the classroom, and all those interested in children's art will want to own this.
