THE NOON WAS RED

An all-out venture, which is something to reckon with, in a written-to-order brain child, longer than average, an upper-period mystery novel which introduces the infallible industrialist, Don O'K (Adams III), Good Neighbor and mastermind. On board a boat to Bolivia, Don O'K and his faithful Sancho, see the beginning of an international incident as a Mrs. Symington Foster, self-appointed ambassador-at-large, disappears; her archaeologist husband, daughter, an infiltrating Nazi, a Marquesa, a night club singer, all become implicated in murder, Inca ritual, superstitions and apparitions, and Nazi undermining -- none of which seems to stagger the intrepid Don O'K who does very well with it...Floral, for my tastes, and I can't quite go along with S & S. But they've fooled me before! So I'm not arguing the point.
