KIRKUS REVIEW

Backstage practices and techniques offer a new course for Lt. Louis Carreau when the murder of well hated John Barrett, stage manager, occurs on opening night, in New York. The routines of the play, the relationships of the company, the question of sufficient backing, and the mechanics of the production, add to Carreau's knowledge as well as his growing pattern of the killing -- and he gets his prey. Temperate.
