THE HUMAN PROBLEMS OF THE MINISTER

By

Publisher: Harper

Let every Protestant minister acquire this book quickly. As he reads it he will know that there, because of the grace of God, goes he! And he will recognize the familiar human tensions that mount up in him despite his ordination. He cannot always resolve them as others in a less exposed position might, but there are adequate safety valves available to him, nonetheless, and Dr. Walker, who writes autobiographically in what he says, points to these resources of relief and healing so often overlooked by the minister himself. The author is minister of the First Methodist Church of Oakland, California, and he leads his brethren to face themselves and their problems in such chapters as ""Condemned to Sin Piously"", ""Competing With Our Brothers"", ""Spiritual Preaching and Material Comfort"", ""Disciplined Disorder"", ""Denominationally Ecumenical"", and ""Whose Little Boy Are You"". Commend it without reservation to every minister you know.
