SUMMER IN WILLIAMSBURG

The microscope applied to the myriad lives of the Jewish section of Brooklyn, suicides, family troubles, sex gropings, racketeering in the bus lines, adolescents and adults -- a sprawling slice of life. The Jewish characters carefully delineated but the total effect is that of a conscious collection of people, incidents, impressions, sensations, etc. Slight similarity to The Unpossessed without its white collar appeal.
