He gives some background to legend--identifying the Czechoslovakian Wenceslaus, nothing the advancement of Santa Claus in the United States. The main symbols, gift-givers, food preparations and feasting, days of celebration varying from early December to Epiphany are noted. sia Minor, the United States, Europe, South America are visited. The book reads like addendum and is mainly of interest as background for the inevitable Christmas ageant.
