KIRKUS REVIEW

An interpretation of patriotism in terms of Canon rather than Cannon. Be sure you know which is which, for this is not a book on armaments of the steel and powder variety but the great pacts, speeches and addresses, a Bible designed to lead us not into, but away from war and revolution. The Mayflower pact; the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States; Washington's Farewell Address; the Star Spangled Banner; Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address and Wilson's, Road away from Revolution. High ideals expressing humanity's hopes. Will they work? Certainly they are worth a trial.
