KIRKUS REVIEW

Harper published an American cookbook some years ago. And here is another, -- accumulated during a year in which the Smiths covered 33,000 miles, and collected recipes of local pièces de rÉsistance from the kitchen magician (not from the host). Most of the time-honored favorites are there, each from its own locale, and many unusual and tempting dishes find their way between these covers. Good reading, too.
