RETREAT FROM THE DOLPHIN

A boy's first experience with love, adventure and foreign revolutions and adult plottings in a good yarn, ably told, in the tradition of Trouble Is My Master. This is the story of young Jim Porteus, who inherits his father's ship, The Dolphin, which carries him, his mother and her South American second husband to the island of Chiloe, off Chile. His mother dies and Jim's life is in danger from his step-father, who catches him when he tries to escape. Jim is forced to escort Emilits, who is being used as a decay to bring her cousin. But Jim and Emilita escapes, are rescued by friends from The Dophin, contact Manual, and eventually Jim plays his part in a sea battle against his step-father and the Spanish .
