A reversion to the ""perils"" of Pauline"" techniques, for a treasure chase from California gambling rooms to the desert, which carries an innocent contest winner, and her husband, on a run around of suspicion, near apprehension in murders and allied entanglements. A double, to triple, to quadruplicate play, ending in a Spanish galleon and its fortune, and a continued-in-our-next atmosphere enlivens a dumb-luck, dumb hero yarn, that does avoid the comic strip.
