The annual again amalgamates a reliable representation from various rough (Male Magazine) to smooth (S.E.P., etc.) periodicals. Craig Rice's John J. Malone, Evan Hunter's violent adolescents, Ellery Queen, John MacDonald, and Aaron Marc Stein (with a particularly clever story of a marriage with mutually evil intentions) are among the experienced entertainers in this medium; Kenneth Fearing- in this category- Henry Slesar and F. J. Smith are new and noteworthy. It is on the whole a superior- yearbook and should find a by now well established market.
