KIRKUS REVIEW

Legends, prayers, hymns, poems of personal emotion and relation which are highly metaphysical, sometimes allegorical, often elliptic and elusive. There is a genuine lyricism here, unusual imagery and contrast; the poems range from the biblical to the modern, from the crucifixion to the death of a son in today's war. Many of these have appeared in leading liberal magazines and magazines devoted to poetry. Not for a wide market.
