LOOKING FOR ALEXANDER by David Cornel DeJong

LOOKING FOR ALEXANDER

By

Pub Date: July 18th, 1963
Publisher: Little, Brown- A.M.P.

Chased by some dogs, Alexander the Great climbed the towering flagpole and peered down at the world below from the gold ball on top. But, cat-fashion, once up he would not -- could not-- climb down. David, A.'s owner, searched near the house, while grandmother, on a bicycle, searched far and wide. At last David finds his terrified cat, and Alexander descends comically, but with grace. The rollicking ramble is pictured in the right exuberant spirit by Harvey Weiss, who also combined efforts with DeJong in The Happy Birthday Egg (1962, p. 624, J-182) which concerns the same boy and feline.
