An ingenious sequel to The Alias Man (1968), this is again set in the England of the '70's and features Roy Rickman, now assistant to Haynes, Parliament's private bloodhound. Haynes has discovered that the Ministry of Information has been using a surprising reversal propaganda technique to subvert morale and convert the country into acceptance of a Soviet-Bonn Bloc which would mean total capitulation to Moscow. When Haynes is murdered, Rickman must complete the investigation and the hearings which turn out to be exercises in dupe-licity.
