Babbling Babel, a defecting Russian literary hack, turns out to be the big fish after all, in spite of the assist given British agents Sheila and Bellecroix (Young Men May Die, 1970, p. 713) in landing the fiery genius Podlas. There are eliminations on both sides and some acidulous wisecracking while aristocratic Sheila and black Bellecroix continue their strenuous amatory adjustments. A walk with too many detours but amusing.
