Narcotics, and the crazed, criminal consequences of marijuana, providing special accessories for the story of Whit, income tax export, who thumbs down a case of illegal money in Barney Steele, and coincidentally gets involved in a marijuana mugging. Working with narcotics officer, Webster, Whit puts himself ahead of the law when it comes to Steele, is driven by a desire for revenge which costs him his wife, gets his evidence not without losing his self-respect, and enables San Francisco's police department to close its case. Hardmouthed, hardhitting, this is superior.
