The explanatory text provides the legendary and historical background in some detail. From the first views of the city, its cathedrals and palaces, to within the Grand Kremlin Palace and its paintings, robes, frescoes, armor, coaches and crowns- the fabulous treasures appear: Monomakh's Golden Cap, the Cloth of Christ, the jeweled Book of Gospels, the Diamond Thorne, Catherine the Great's wedding dress, etc., etc.
