THE DRAGON LORD

A sword-and-sorcery mishmash, clumsily pegged to a quasi-historical Arthurian setting. The protagonist, Mad, is an Irish mercenary in the hire of the cunning and blood-mad Arthur, and the plot is something about a scheme to defeat the Saxons by having the unsavory Merlin call up a wyvern out of another time-space continuum. In the event, it takes the combined powers of Mael, his stout Danish companion Starkad, and the wise woman Veleda to keep the ungrateful creature from dismantling the planet. Full of ineptly visualized landscapes, gratuitous gore, and Deer Hunter-manqu‚ dialogue.
