KIRKUS REVIEW

Rabbity Mr. Pinkerton and the awe inspiring Inspector Bull keep each other fully occupied in the two murders occuring at an old inn in Rye. Mr. Pinkerton in incriminating situations, connected with the killing of a domineering husband and father, a grasping daughter-in-law, a debt ridden younger brother, and an older brother about to lose his inheritance. Inspector Bull is kindly and Pinkerton supplies information necessary to the solution. Leisurely, nice characters, and local history neatly inserted.
