HE WALKS WITH ME: The Religious Experiences of Country Music Stars

More stories of the conversion and religious experience of entertainment personalities--in this case, country and gospel music stars, seventeen of them, plus a lawyer and a minister serving the Nashville music community. Author Graham--Dream Your Way to Happiness and Awareness, The New UFO Sightings--does not share the evangelical or pentecostal assumptions of his subjects, and hence is a little muddled on some points (""What impact would proof positive that the Dead Sea Scrolls are fully accurate have on the faith of Born Again Christians?""). He also includes two chapters promoting his own views on reincarnation and flying saucers. Despite all this, despite a crush of clichÉs, the integrity of most of the singers comes across in their own words, and some--Bill Anderson, Barbara Fairchild, Judy Lynn--are really refreshing to hear from. That the book is in danger of becoming a blur of sameness must be laid to the author's side of the conversation, reruns of the same six or so prompting questions.
