KIRKUS REVIEW

A companion to the earlier The Red Executive (1960) examines the varying customs, class distinctions, traditions and attitudes of the different levels of management in Great Britain, France, Belgium and Germany, and their contrasts to this area in the United States. There are further surveys of the qualifying factors of birth, nationality, education -- even accent -- for specific degrees of managerial status which underline even more the difference from American practices. This general study of some of the key countries in the Common Market (plus Great Britain) should be of immediate importance for business men here who have European interests or ambitions.
