KIRKUS REVIEW

The revival of interest in Mr. Grew's lively animal stories of the Canadian wilds is reflected in this second book within a year -- a reissue of a horse story which has been out of print since 1926. (The Wild Dog of Edmonton appeared within the last year- P. 127- see report). This is the story of Queen, a colt born on a Saskatchewan ranch, who makes her escape from man to the open range and becomes the leader of a band of wild horses on the northern prairies. Her adventures have an almost human quality of emotional tension and suspense- Queen lives a personality.
