THE RECORD BOOK

Here's a book of vital importance to those bookshops and book departments that have an affiliation with selling of records. If there is no such link the book should still be very saleable, to any of your customers whom you know to be interested in collecting a good library of records. There is both an informational and a practical value to the book, for in addition to carefully charted listings of records, with evaluations, data concerning artists, manufacturers, prices, etc., there is a running text, containing biographical and critical and historical notes on all the phases of music covered, -- symphonic, operatic, vocal, instrumental, chamber, popular music. The theory back of sound building of a music library; data about composers, periods, conductors, children's records, and miscellaneous records (humor, physical exercises, etc.); and information on manufacturing processes, types of machines, needles -- all give this book wide interest and value.
