THE PATCHWORK MAN

By

Pub Date: May 1st, 1975
Publisher: Dodd, Mead

A hit (Cade, a 300-pound man in a white suit kills a man on an Atlanta back street) and run (the witness -- Bill Kirby) procedure since after Kirby identifies Cade, Cade is determined to eliminate him even after he is serving time. With the help of the Justice Department, Kirby gets a new name, SS number and start in New Orleans although his tongue keeps tripping him up re his past which he must conceal, even from the girl who proves to be more loyal than he'd first thought. Harper plays rough and fast and for keeps and knows how to monopolize an evening successfully.
