A sequel to the popular Dear God. . .Children's Letters to God (1987, not reviewed). Here, Heller (Talking to Your Child About God, 1988) divides scores of short letters to God from kids ages 4-12 into sections such as ""Dear God, Do You Help Mrs. Fields Make Chocolate Chip Cookies?"" (letters with a food theme) and ""Dear God, Keep the Generations Rolling!"" (letters about family and procreation). The letters--completely unsourced except by first-name signing, with age--""Your friend, Eddie (age 8)""--are, predictably, cute, silly, frank, slight, lightly funny, laden with misspellings, and sometimes touching: ""Dear God, Did you help the Geeks build the big stadeums or did they ruin it by themselves?""; ""Dear God, How big is your heart? Is it bigger than Europe or Canada? Wow! You must be a real giant""; ""G,O,D, I always spell your name in my alphabet soup""; etc. A collection that should appeal to the same readership, and in equal measure, as did the original.
