KIRKUS REVIEW

As a history of the Catholic group in England this is extremely well done, but it is far more than that. It is an entertaining and thoroughly delightful picture of four hundred years full of gay and gallant subjects ranging from John Gully, famous prize fighter, to the Shelleys, Byron and Florence Nightingale.
