THERE WILL YOUR HEART BE ALSO: Edgar Cayce's Readings About Home and Marriage

For Gladys and William McGarey, it was karmic love at first sight when they met at a church Presbytery meeting back in the '40's and after 25 years as a practicing physician in Arizona, Gladys (despite the credited co-authorship, this is written in her voice) has realized that the career of wife and mother is the most important in the world. Her professional and personal experiences, including much wisdom from the mouths of her six babes, are supplemented here with the gospel according to the Sleeping Prophet: ""It seems so simple, as Edgar Cayce explained in his readings."" Simple, indeed: pre-marital sex desecrates the temple of the living God; vows are a necessity; vigorous physical exercise is the solution for controlling sexual urges; birth control and abortion are dubious and contraception is bound to fail anyway if it runs counter to the will of God; homosexuality is a perversion which caused the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Advice like this, stressing obedience and chastity, was outdated 25 years ago. Today it is almost pernicious.
