A collection of poems by a writer familiar to readers of lyric verse. His occasional poems often give delight, but gathered together, they carry less weight and conviction than when they are read singly. David Morton is if not an occasional pot in the technical sense, at least a lyricist of the passing moment, the fleeting d. A certain love of beauty and romanticism characterizes his work, but no underlying thought or philosophy binds the verses together. Still there are many charming individual poems and the book may have a reasonably wide, not too discriminating public.
