KIRKUS REVIEW

A rather prosaic little story of a woodchuck, with little humor or fantasy. Might do better sold as straight nature factual material than fiction. Follows the average life pattern, -- one season with the family, a first hibernation, then striking out alone. Adventures -- friendship with a dog -- making inroads on a garden, etc.
