STORM THE LAST RAMPART

A fast-moving story of the last months of the American Revolution, this novel deals with Bennett Paige, a Rebel captain and a spy behind British lines. He and a woman spy actively partake in the great deceptive strategy by which Washington secretly moved his troops away from the Hudson, in order to trap Cornwallis in Yorktown, bombard him into surrender and win the war. Substantially written, full of galloping horses, noted battles, generals in moments of decision, this novel imparts the comfortable feeling that a great deal of information has been painlessly absorbed against a panoramic view of a real war.
