KIRKUS REVIEW

The 1776 winter quarters of the Rebel Army are the setting for young Phoebe Runnels' high spirited romance with the Quaker, Wheeler Smith, and both play their part in taking Trent's Town on the Jersey side of the river. The hard rather than glorious part of the war are played out satisfactorily indeed in a story with definite validity.
