PRESSURE PLAY

In this sixth installment in the eight-book ""Angel Park All-Stars"" series--about a trio of rookie Little Leaguers--the Angel Park Dodgers begin to fall apart under a rival team's concerted barrage of catcalls and insults. Jacob feels especially pressured; his parents and coach are concerned enough about his sliding schoolwork to consider taking him off the team. Worse yet, he makes the last out with the winning runs on base in the Dodgers' second loss of the season. Can Jacob revive his sagging team and also mend his own fences? Do you doubt? Hughes' comments about schoolwork and unsporting conduct give this easy baseball-action story a serious undercurrent. Illustrations not seen.
