THE LONG WHITE MONTH

This appealing straight story of a little girl who goes from a too well regulated New York apartment to a cabin in the Connecticut woods near Granby, will be fine for those about eight to eleven. An attractive volume with its jacket and illustrations by Theresa Kalab, it will look well on Fall counters, as we all begin to think of snow again. The writing is good and the feeling for winter bird life is tops.
