THE INVISIBLE ISLAND

An imaginative and vivid family story of a group of children who took seriously their reading of Swiss Family Robinson. When they moved to a Connecticut village they found an island on their own farm and experimented in living out the things they'd read about, happy castaways from home. Some of the things they accomplish with a bit too much facility, such as building a stone house with ease and speed, but they have plenty of credible adventures, and make new friends. Christine Price's line drawings don't live up to the text, which is definitely superior.
