SUNDAY MORNING WE WENT TO THE ZOO

An uneventful day at the zoo, in drab pictures and short, flat, simple sentences that too frequently begin with ""But,"" ""And,"" or ""So."" The narrator wants a balloon first off but is hauled off to the monkeys instead. There are tears here and there, when one sister wants to see the snakes or both are denied cotton candy; but after glimpses of the lions, parrot, goat, and elephants, they finally get their balloons. ""I had such a good time at the zoo,"" Ray ends; but if this is irony it will escape her audience.
